Annette Procunier (Jurist)

Annette G. Procunier has been involved in the Theatre for over 40 years starting with her first attempt to dazzle the audience in her local High School Musical. Since then she has been part of a dozen Community Theatre Companies across Canada as an award winning Director, Stage Manager and Designer.

Her work has led her to a distinguished career as an Adjudicator of more than 100 festivals in North America, Europe and Japan including being the only North American to Adjudicate the World Festival in Monaco and her third invitation to adjudicate the American Association of Community Theatres (AACT) national festival in 2011. This year AACT awarded her the distinction of Fellow for “single handedly raising the level of Community Theatre in America.”

Annette was one of the founders of the Lighthouse Festival in Port Dover and has served on the boards of professional Theatre and Opera companies as well as Provincial and National Theatre Boards.

She is proud to have directed Newfoundlander Jonathan Monro's musical, “Variations on a Nervous Breakdown” in its Island debut at the Stephenville Theatre Festival this summer and looks forward to future directing engagements in Midland Texas, Stuttgart and Vilseck, Germany and to finally having time to finish her long awaited book on Adjudication.
