Maria Ashton

Playwrights of Spring marks Maria's return to the stage. Her previous on-stage credits include The Deputy Director of the Institute in Temptation, Meg the Stage Manager in The Actor's Nightmare, The Dove in Conference of the Birds & Snout the Tinker in Midsummer Night's Dream. As a student in the Department of Theatre at York University, Maria was able to work extensively behind the scenes of major Theatre@York productions: Scenic Artist, Sound Technician, Lighting, Properties, Production Assistant, Hair/Makeup/Wigs, Front of House & Carpentry. Markham Theatre was home to two of Maria's biggest undertakings: Stage Manager, Oklahoma for the Unionville Theatre Co (1994) & Stage Manager, Sweeney Todd for the Fifth Business Players Theatre Group (1993). Maria is excited to be back on stage & thankful to be working with such a talented group of artists. Big thanks to “Papa Bear” for being so supportive.
