Taisa Ballard

Taisa is a graduate of Ryerson's Radio & Television Arts program as well as The Second City Training Centre in Toronto. She has had experience working on both sides of the stage and camera. As a member of Theatre Aurora for the past 6 years, she has been seen on stage with the company in several productions including: The Dining Room, California Suite, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Crazy for You, I Hate Hamlet and Li'l Abner. She also performed as Lina Lamont in Marquee Productions' of Singin' in the Rain. This is Taisa's second time performing in a staged reading; the first as the Narrator with Wild Sound's film script reading of The Pharmacist. She can also be seen on YouTube in the music video for Justin Hines "Wish You Well". Taisa is thrilled to be participating with Playwrights of Spring for the first time. Thank you to Solange, our director, for the casting! She would also like to thank her amazing teenaged son & daughter for their love, support, and importantly, their inspiration. After she saw them perform as young children in their school musicals, she said to herself, "Hey... maybe I could try that, too!" Enjoy the Festival!
